Over a year, OPTIMA bike under Raja Cycle Co., Ltd supported the Thai young cyclists
As a part of CSR project to collaborate with the Bangkok Sports School. The objective of the project was to represent Thai bicycle brand to make a great contribution to the country as well as groom the cyclists with potentials to become national representatives.
From day one, OPTIMA started to support from two cyclists. Today, we are extremely proud to produce 20 cyclists who have exceptional capabilities under OPTIMA THULE Team. Our cyclists won several competitions around the world. However, defeating in international tournaments is not the only goal. Rather, we look ahead to develop the high-performance cyclists and grow with them in a long-term. This article, we will bring you to reminisce our OPTIMA THULE Team’s timeline and see how far we take and put the effort to successfully launch the full team of OPTIMA THULE at the end of last year. We will also walk you through the previous activities in the past year.
Raja Cycle Sponsor OPTIMA BIKE and tools for Bangkok Sports School
K.Metavee Siripornprasarn, Executive General Manager of Raja Cycle Co., Ltd who is a manufacturer of OPTIMA bike, long has the mission for Raja to manufacture bikes for every bike lover and to give back to our Thai community. She initiated a sponsorship project for young cyclists of Bangkok Sports School.
K.Suthon Komolsen, the former head of Bangkok youth practice center and the former principal of Bangkok Sports School (Middle)
She has the mind to improve the cycling practice in order to develop young cyclists to become Thai national athlete in the future. K.Suthon Komolsen, the former head of Bangkok youth practice center and the former principal of Bangkok Sports School, approved the sponsorship and represented the school to receive OPTIMA bikes, training tools and other instruments necessary for the cycling competition. Those OPTIMA bikes are to support the high performing students with good behaviors in order to represent as good role models and inspire other students.
K.Metavee has the view to develop the young cyclists with potentials to participate and win in international tournament in the long-term. “I really believe that our Thai young cyclists have the strong capabilities if coupled with the proper training and tools will never lose to any nations in the international matches” she said.
On September 12, 2015, K.Metavee and OPTIMA BIKE team arranged the education tour at Raja Cycle Factory for the 17 cyclists from Bangkok Sports School and K.Sanphet Wiboonsek, Sports Development Officer. The tour is one of key activities of the sponsorship project between OPTIMA and Bangkok Sports School with the purposes to provide the knowledge and fun activities to entertain those young cyclists before the Track Cycling Thai Championship Competition next week at field 3, The Hua Mark Velodrome.
OPTIMA Return Training Tools and Improve Facility Condition for Bangkok Sports School
K.Metavee Siripornprasarn represented OPTIMA BIKE to return the cycling training tools of Bangkok Sports School. OPTIMA have fixed those 30 training tools from conditions that were no longer functioning to conditions that are proper and ready-to-use.
She mentioned that those tools are the key factor to help young cyclists to reach their potential. Besides, we helped improve look and feel of the facility where cyclists routinely practice. Bangkok Sports School aims to practice students with talent in sports including cycling to become athlete or sports specialists in near future. Cycling division previously faced the problem of lacking appropriate and sufficient number of training tools and facility for the students.
K.Metavee said that OPTIMA aims to provide continuous support and hope to expand a larger program to develop a number of cyclists who will create honor and reputation for Thai nation. In addition to returning tools, OPTIMA arranged the game to entertain the students, treated food, desserts and drinks for lunch and threw a fun activity about bike knowledge. K.Jack, guru in Bike Fitting from TITAN BIKE STUDIO, gave the techniques in adjusting the bikes and in other physical conditions. He also gave the prize THULE product for every cyclist. We are very happy to receive the smiles, happiness and impression from every young cyclist.
